Reflections on Consciousness
No matter which mode one's consciousness is in, it only operates in one mode at a time. So to a consciousness, there will always be phenomena that come out of nowhere.
*
Heightening one's connective sensibilities, say by drugs, allows one to perceive frequencies of vibration in one's body not usually accessible to one's awareness, and then harmonize them, perhaps only subconsciously. It is this somatic harmonization that delivers the drug's feel-good sensation.
*
Developing a flexible mind allows one to discern the nuances of the Cosmic Deity's influence
but it also allows our Planetary Deity greater scope for our dreams.
*
An agile architective consciousness, one that has appreciated the value of letting its grip on consciousness go, will regularly switch into connective consciousness to confirm the smooth continuation of our connective sentience, thereby ensuring that its own architective activities are not adversely impacting significant connective narratives.
*
When we ensure the smooth continuation of our connective narratives the Cosmic Deity is happy. When we consciously experience the smooth continuation of our connective narratives we are happy.
*
There is a contradiction in the view that the universe is fundamentally conscious while only a human
(as opposed to an instrumental) observation can collapse a wave function.
*
Does the connective holism of my body constitute my connective sentience? In the same way that the holism of the universe constitutes the consciousness of the Cosmic Deity? In the same way that our right hemisphere's consciousness is 'embodied' in the manner of Iain McGilchrist?
For that matter, is my architective sentience that of the processional narrative organizing my body? In the same way that the processional narrative of our planet constitutes the consciousness of our Planetary Deity?

The universal consciousness of panpsychism can be regarded in two ways - that the universe is fundamentally conscious and that material reality emerges from such an a-priori consciousness, or more simply that consciousness is a fundamental substance in the way that electric charge is, with every object partaking in this substance to some degree such that a stone simply has less consciousness than a human.
The first way is contrary to the premise of Physical Spirituality, viz. that spirituality is emergent, so I won't argue against it. The second way is in keeping with the ideas of Physical Spirituality such that a spiritual consciousness simply partakes of the universal conscious substance in the same way that we do. This viewpoint would suggest that a stone would have say 1 unit of consciousness while a human has say 1000 units of consciousness and the universe a gazillion, but that is certainly not the "universal consciousness" I have experienced under psychedelics. The universal consciousness I have experienced under psychedelics is more like a participation in a universal awareness of being - as an awareness of universality rather than a recognition of say each stone as another separate awareness.
